Reference mikrotik factory reset password stale
name: MikroTik CRS328 factory-reset: stored password stale description: MikroTik likely factory-reset during 2026-06-12 power event; stored admin password in mikrotik-crs328.env no longer works; SSH host key changed; need sticker password from unit to restore access type: reference
After the 2026-06-12 hard power cut to the rack, the MikroTik CRS328 (192.168.88.1) shows signs of a factory reset: the stored admin password in ~/.forge-secrets/mikrotik-crs328.env is rejected, and the SSH host key changed (required clearing from known_hosts before connecting).
To restore management access: read the default admin password printed on the sticker on the physical unit and use it to log in. Once in, re-set the admin password and update ~/.forge-secrets/mikrotik-crs328.env.
Until that sticker read happens, this switch is not accessible from Console. PoE camera power and Finn's 10G uplink still pass through it; it functions at Layer 2 even without management access.
Update reference_mikrotik_crs328.md once access is restored.
