The forge data layer is the highest-leverage build in the portfolio: a single SQLite database pulling Shopify (all stores) + ERPNext financials + email engagement into one canonical schema, replacing fragmented per-brand SaaS silos.

Canonical schema: customers, orders, order_items, products, email_events, financials tables with brand column on each.

Phased plan written to memory/plans/forge-data-layer-2026-06-09.md.

Phase 1 (in progress as of 2026-06-09): Nova Design as sandbox. Blocked on Nova Shopify Admin API token (shpat_...) + *.myshopify.com domain from Justin.

Why: SaaS charges per brand per seat; forge owns the spine once and all brands draw from it. Enables cross-brand LTV, AI segmentation, coordinator Q&A over real data.

How to apply: Before building any per-brand email, analytics, or marketing tool, check whether the data layer is the right place to hook in first.

The forge data layer is the highest-leverage build in the pipeline: a single SQLite database that pulls Shopify orders/customers/products + ERPNext financials + email engagement across all brands (JWVR, Nova, Gus Outdoor, Sip N Serve, Gus the Bass) into one canonical schema.

Why: SaaS tools (Klaviyo, Shopify, ERPNext) each silo their data slice. Owning the spine enables: AI segmentation across brands, real LTV, coordinator Q&A against live data, and a single email engine that replaces per-brand Klaviyo subscriptions.

How to apply: All new forge capabilities (email engine, dashboards, coordinator tools, SimpleFIN sync) should write to or read from this DB rather than building isolated stores. Phase 1 uses Nova Design as the sandbox (low stakes, real Shopify store). Design doc at memory/plans/forge-data-layer-2026-06-09.md. Next concrete step: Nova Shopify Admin API token (shpat_) + *.myshopify.com domain to start the sync connector.
