Project nova winddown fmo
Shop Nova Design status per Justin (2026-06-10): a wind-down, not a growth business. His verdict after seeing the books (2025: $53.1k gross, $127 net): "apparent how much of a time and energy suck that business is... competing in the niche with lack of time from other businesses ended up just not working out." No inventory repurchase planned.
Operational facts: - Fulfillment moved to Fix My Oculus (FMO) at the START of 2026, before the garage conversion; ALL Nova inventory lives at FMO now (explains why the garage holds none). - FMO carried a balance due to Nova from affiliate sales, so storage is free for several months; fulfillment ~$2.70/piece after that economics. - Contract + communications: in [email protected] (the saved Admin@ShopNovaDesign emails). Retrieval approved by Justin if needed. - TikTok ads are left running DELIBERATELY: partly to give FMO volume, mainly to burn out the remaining inventory. The 2026 ads spend ($6.7k YTD) is a liquidation cost, not growth marketing mis-spend.
Contract specifics (pulled from email 2026-06-10, saved to
Google-Drive/Business/Nova-Design/FMO-3PL-Agreement-V2-2026-02.pdf): $2.70/order
all-inclusive fulfillment; $1.00/return; $200/mo storage; FMO's $1,971.22 balance due
to Nova settled as 9 months free storage + $171.22 cash; term began last weekend of
Feb 2026 -> storage billing resumes ~Dec 1 2026; month-to-month, 30-day notice;
1% shrinkage allowance; FMO may buy refurb/excess at wholesale (sec 4 = built-in exit
for remainder stock). FMO contacts: Preston Ferguson + Daniel. Inventory synced via
Syncio. Followup scheduled: nova-fmo-storage-decision fires 2026-11-01 to recommend
sell/wholesale/terminate before billing starts.
Implication for books/advice: judge NOVA 2026 as inventory liquidation (target: sell through, then cut Shopify plan + Klaviyo + ads to zero). Don't recommend "fix NOVA" plays. Related: [[project-goc-pivot-creator-media]].
