Two red herrings I chased and killed: (1) page weight (4.8MB) was NOT the cause, though fixing it was independently worth it (now 129KB on mobile); (2) my "pixel sends nothing" finding was MY headless browser being caught by Meta's own BotBlocking pixel feature (spider_bot_rules matches "HeadlessChrome" -> "[Meta pixel] Bot traffic detected and blocked"). A bogus control pixel ID fired because it had no BotBlocking config. ALWAYS test pixels with a real browser UA. ACTUAL root cause: Cloudflare returned 403 "Your request was blocked" to meta-externalagent (CF AI-crawler blocking / Content Signals). Meta's Event Setup Tool crawler could never see the page. FIXED: WAF custom rule (skip bot protections) for meta-externalagent/facebookexternalhit/facebookcatalog on BOTH gusthebass.com and gusoutdoor.co. Verified: Meta UA now 200 + sees pixel; GPTBot still 403 (AI scraping still blocked). Confirmed: link pages fire PageView ONLY (13 events = 13 page loads). No click/lead/purchase events exist.
